Selection & Assessment

Our brief:

  • Our client, a global food packaging business, had a strategic goal to deepen relationships with customers and drive continuous improvement methodologies within their customer’s operations, helping them to stand out from the crowd in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
  • Their Service Engineers, a population of 1,600 globally, were the face of the business to their customers - but had traditionally been focused purely on trouble shooting technical, engineering issues.
  • To drive this new strategic direction, our client wanted to assess the global population of Service Engineers. They wanted to evaluate who had the right skills to move from a traditional technical focus to a more consultative, coaching, facilitative way of working with their customers.
  • We worked with them over a period of four years to deliver a highly effective assessment process.

Training and Development

Our brief:

  • Our client, a leading UK supplier of building materials, wanted to develop managerial skills across their management population after employee survey results consistently highlighted issues with management capability.
  • We were asked to scope, design and launch a management skills programme which blended classroom-based development with 360-degree feedback, self-development, on-the-job development and business projects.
  • The programme first launched in 2006 and continues to be a core part of the client’s development portfolio.

Team Development

Our brief:

  • Our technology client was suffering ‘growing pains’ from several years of rapid growth and expansion. It’s core values and culture were being threatened in this period of significant change. Growth had also led to an increase in ‘politics’ and friction across different parts of the business that was effecting cross functional relationships.
  • We contributed to a large-scale change programme that was designed to reignite the organization, starting from the top. We were asked to design and facilitate a team development intervention across the top 50 senior managers to launch the change programme and bring to life the issues faced by the business.
  • We started with a blank sheet of paper and a simple brief to do something different, something creative and something that would go down in the history of the organization.

Communications and Employee Engagement

Our brief:

  • Following a period of significant change, reorganisation and upheaval in this client’s business, the MD wanted to drive a new ‘people-centred culture’ across the business to ensure that the changes were sustainable, employees remained engaged and results continued to improve.
  • We have worked on an on-going basis and in close partnership with this client since 2005 to create, develop and drive improvements in the business culture resulting in significant tangible benefits .
